USS Constitution is the oldest US warship still in commission and rightly so. The ship has an incredible history and we should be proud that we have taken the time and money to preserve her after all these years.

However, there is another famous warship out there that's on hard times and needs your help. It's the USS Olympia and she was Admiral Dewey's flagship at the Battle of Manila Bay. Olympia is that last example from our New Steel Navy and she was built in the 1890s. The ship is currently docked at Philadelphia, but because of poor management and a museum head that actually went to jail for stealing funds from the museum, the ship is in disrepair and may even be scrapped. You can read more about her in this month's issue of the US Naval Institute's magazine Proceedings:
<a href="http://www.usni.org/magazines/proceedings/story.asp?STORY_ID=2431" rel="nofollow">http://www.usni.org/magazines/proceedings/story.a...</a>

If you want to find out more on how to help this fine ship and stop a piece of history from being scrapped, read the article. If we can spend billions on the Dept. of Energy, which does nothing, we can spend a few bucks to preserve an important part of our maritime past. Thanks.
