I think he's thinking like Benjamin Franklin did:

"Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

But I really don't think that just because you have this bumper sticker, that you would sacrifice your liberties, or "capitulate".

Islam actually is a religion of peace, in it's true nature. Lumping Islam in with "FANATICAL Islam", is another total logical fallacy.

If you read the Qur'an (which isn't blasphemous, despite what some might say), you may understand that.

Thanks for your service, Kurt … I don't agree with everything you said but, that's alright.

I agree with sacceo entirely.

I think my main problem with this article, is that sweeping broad generalizations and stereotypes, like saying everyone with a certain bumper sticker irrefutably stands for _____ … is a total logical fallacy.

It is just a bumper sticker, for better or for worse. Does the phrase "judging a book by it's cover" fit this, in anyone else's mind?

It's interesting how I am a centrist, Conservative White Male with a Mazda Tribute SUV and I have such window rub-on sticker on my rear window. I find Mr. Schlicter's blog amusing if not downright contemptible. Obviously he is pro-Anti-Semite, Anarchist and Militia man. The typical gung-ho like the rest of you that ultimately gets someone killed or injured by jumping the gun. I have worked in the defense / military / aerospace sector for over 30 years, and I have met many foreigners and traveled to many countries. It is interesting I have never been shot or even threatened. Quite the opposite: I find they are very defensive for their own countries and yet very friendly and supportive of the USA. it is only when people like you start you saber-rattling that things go astray. I am not advocating to go hug a terrorist. There are extremist nut-jobs in the USA as anywhere else in the world, and more have been killed over the long run within the USA by its own people and government than anyone outside. The recent Iraq War Veteran seen with to assault rifles is a perfect example. I have worked for and with Israeli's, Taoists, Muslims as well as Christians and others. You can COEXIST with people who are likeable or not. You can also be against any race, creed color, etc. because you simply put a label on them. I'll bet a lot of you claim to be CHRISTIANS, but yet don't practice what you preach. Please be aware that the entire BIBLE takes place in the Middle East, and that Jesus was a Jew, not a White Man from Montana or the Army. The Swastika was and is a Buddhist symbol long before it was a Nazi symbol. So, if you fly it in your room and salute it, think about that first.

Most of them do. In fact, Iraq had a large Christian population until we invaded.

You can't so broadly label more than 1 billion people for what a relatively small number do.

Would you like it if we were all blamed for all the hideous things some Christians have done in the name of God? Slavery, the Spanish Inquisition, the Native Americans, the Carib Indians, the Incas, etc. etc.

You're right, just slapping this bumper sticker on a car doesn't do a thing.

Neither does slapping on a U.S. flag or support the troops decal.

People who like the 'COEXIST' idea don't simplistically think it will happen. But there is a lot of ignorant racism in America, and people who stupidly think all Muslims are terrorists.

Coexist is more valid a message than 'WWJD?', or many others.

And, maybe if we hadn't been mucking around in the Middle East for the past 100 years or so, we wouldn't have so many issues with some of the people there.

But sadly many folks here value their SUVs over everything else.

People there are More Faith's then Just Jewish, Christian, and Islam the only sad thing is that out of all the Faiths Only 2 are real and did not steal writings from other faiths and that's PAGAN and Jewish. Now that being said wile All of you are Bashing Tolerance. just remember Tolerance is what let's YOU worship YOUR faith as well and it's why your faith was allowed.
