Got a Tip?
Jon Stewart Uses Maxed-Out Race Card Against Ground Zero Mosque Opponents
Gee, Jon, and I thought the Race Card was maxed out?
First off, let’s congratulate Jon Stewart and other leftists who are currently vaunting their moral superiority over those of us opposed to the Ground Zero Mosque, and welcome them to a world where religious and property rights mean something. “You broke your cherry!”
Stewart is certainly talented, but no amount of talent can overcome just how unfunny race-baiting and intellectual dishonesty is. In this first video, Stewart admits he doesn’t know if the Ground Zero Mosque Imam is as radical as advertised (No Google at Comedy Central?). But that doesn’t stop him from smearing mosque opponents as unreasonable — as portraying them as individuals who want to punish all Muslims for the sins of the 9/11 terrorists. This is an old rhetorical trick Stewart’s playing. When you can’t argue on the facts, you take your opponent’s argument to an extreme and try to debate it there:
Stewart: “Who knew the First Amendment had the same slogan as Century 21: location, location, location?”
Well, who knew the First Amendment right to free speech and peaceful protest came in second to freedom of religion when smug comedians say so?
Furthermore, who knew that someday the Left would find it acceptable to ridicule the concerns of the 9/11 families into glib, comedic talking points?
Stewart personifies everything we’re seeing from the Left when it comes to this debate. Besides their fighting for religious and property rights for the very first time (and no doubt temporarily), they act as though our exercising our First Amendment right to protest against this mosque through peaceful public pressure is somehow an infringement on freedom of religion. The Left just doesn’t understand that they’re not allowed to pick and choose what they want out of the Constitution. We, on the other hand, understand that this is exactly how America is supposed to work.
Unlike gay marriage in California and Arizona’s illegal immigration law, no one on our side is asking for a Robed Master to come in and make the will of the people disappear. This is a debate the American people are having, this is our debate, and it’s a damn good one. And if it ends with the Ground Zero Mosque not being built because various individuals in the building trade refuse to show up for work, that will be a great day for America and the Bill of Rights.
Something else Stewart and the cowardly Left refuse to acknowledge as On High they tar mosque opponents as intolerant bigots who need to be investigated, are the 9/11 families. When they attack us, they attack every 9/11 family who also opposes this mosque. Jon Stewart’s not dumb. He knows this. He just doesn’t have the guts (at least in this segment and the segment below) to address them even as he paints them with his broad brush.
So what about the families, Stewart? Are they bigots too? Or are you going to put on your clown mask to hide from answering the question?
Here’s a little more of Jon Stewart’s intellectual dishonesty to take home with you:
Nothing like making your point with the use of the soda straw of bigotry to focus on what might be a total of a thousand protesters in a country of over 300 million. America is currently home to a million or more Muslims and hundreds of mosques. Our fellow Americans who practice the Islamic faith have been welcomed throughout this country both before and after 9/11 and with no incidents of violence or vandalism that I’m aware of. There are also two mosques currently sitting within 1.5 miles of Ground Zero and no one is protesting those.
Obviously, Stewart won’t make his audience aware of those facts, though, because then he can no longer feel superior to the rest of us.
I know Stewart’s just wearing his clownface, but his kind of divisive race-baiting brought to you by the same guy who just a week ago was joking about the Race Card being maxed out shouldn’t be ignored. And maybe before he divides us further with his hateful soda strawing, he should find a moment to think about the 9/11 families, and maybe even do a little Googling about this Imam instead of waiting for the MSM to do it for him.
Either way, I’d like to propose adding Islamic prayer centers to every industry these Leftists newly enamored with religious and property rights always oppose. For example, with Islamic prayer centers in every WalMart, we can forever put an end to hostile hippie protests throughout the nation. And how about an Islamic Prayer Center and Drilling Platform at ANWR?
I’d also like to propose a new nuclear power plant be built next to Jon Stewart’s home. We’ll add an Islamic prayer center to the facility and call him a bigot when he opposes it. After all, what right does anyone have to protest against what’s built in their own community when freedom of religion is involved?
