Bohemond was correct. But also Jews were not necessarily white either at the time. It is only the european-dwelling jews who interbred/evolved into having lighter skin due to the obvious advantages of having white skin in Europe.

No one really knows, nor should we care except for curiosity, what the melanin rates were back then.

As for whether Jews are owed something from "enslaved Africans", sadly history shows it the other way. The truth may not be pretty, but it is the truth.

Frankly, I'm a believer in honest reparations from the Muslims and Africans who created slavery, and I'm of the "pay once, then quit bitching" school of thought. There's only so many things we can keep mad about, and if you've been compensated, you can move on. I'd rather have justice and truth for all, then to keep what I have until someone steals it.

Don't fall for the "Egyptians were black" propaganda crap. They weren't- and were very proud of the fact. Their own artwork carefully distinguishes between their own skintone, rendered in red ochre, Semites, yellowish, and "Nubians," illustrated in black.

"Tolerance" doesn't mean the same to westerners as it does in islam. The queen happens to be married to the guy who (90 years ago) would have been the Sharif of Mecca, so printing a book in Hebrew would create political problems. Besides, sales in Israel would probably be anemic. They probably figure the symbolism is not worth the political price.

It's said that King Hussein was taken by car to the edge of the heights where the IDF was engaging his Jordanian forces in the '67 War. Hussein was supposed to be horrified at what he saw as his Jordanians were beaten and pushed off of the West bank and LOST the Old City. LOL!

An over exuberant Rabbi was telling the command on the ground to BLAST al Asqa and the Dome of the Rock but the idea was rejected. Can you imagine?

Seriously. The only Jordanian Army that fought decently against the IDF was led by an Englishman, John Bagot Glubb, or "Glubb Pasha" as the Arabs called him.

I think if King Abdullah wants to end this situation equitably, he should be working with the Israelis, not against them. He has promise, and he's the most pro-Western leader of the lot, but he's still got the same old problems as Hussein had.
