Are you, or anyone else her for that matter, aware of a good read that explains in some detail how the Shah was outed? I ask, because my knowledge comes from MSM (bad dictator led to an overthrow) and Persopolis (Bad dictator replaced by much worse system).

Think what could have happened if the US would have supported the recent Iranian uprisings. Could we have ended up with a non-enemy in the area?

You are absolutely correct, look at the results from West Virgina and Chicago from 1960 (like Chicago has EVER been honest), Nixon won in 1960, but went with what he thought better for the nation.

Is Fidel predicting another nuclear war? Eventually he'll be right... but only after the actuarial tables catch up to him.

On Kennedy: Worst president ever. Sadly didn't finish his first term but did major damage in that time by acting weak and being incompetent. Avoided nuclear war, but it was his weakness that allowed it to get to that point in the first place, never should have happened. Within months of his presidency the Russkies already had him sized up and:
-kruschev embarrassed him badly in Vienna
-bay of pigs loss
-berlin wall went up (he talked big at the wall after they humiliated him by putting it up in the first place, unafraid)
-commies gained much ground in other latin countries too, not just cuba
-got us into Vietnam, already ordered assassinated of Diem to accelerate our involvement
-Cuban missile crises brink of nuclear war

He was only president for 36 months, what could go wrong?

In 1965, Victor Dreke served as Second in Command under Ernesto "Che" Guevara in the Cuban-led military expedition to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Dreke’s autobiographical book, From the Escambray to Congo: In the Whirlwind of the Cuban Revolution, was published in both English and Spanish by Pathfinder Press, the publishing arm of the Socialist Workers Party. In the mid 1990's Victor Dreke was invited to Florida International University as a visiting professor and lecturer to spouse the "many achivements" of the Castro Revolution. Ummmm, I wonder if Adolf Eichman would have been granted the same courtesy by any American university.[???] --macaronte

"Raul Castro himself admitted that at the time of the Missile Crisis his troops and their Soviet advisors were up against 179 different “bands of bandits” as he labeled the thousands of Cuban anti-Communist rebels then battling savagely and virtually alone in Cuba’s countryside, with small arms shipments from their compatriots in south Florida as their only lifeline."
.
.
Allowed me to add the following: Peasants in the area were shipped out to gulags in far away Pinar del Rio province in order not to assist the pro-freedom rebels. Rebels caught by Castro's army were summarily executed on the spot. One of Castro's field commander's against the patriotic forces was Victor Dreke.
