What the liberals don't seem to be able to grasp is that THEY will be the first targets once Sharia law takes effect!

How any woman who has lived in our civilized society could support a religion that makes a woman hide beneath a burka is beyond my comprehension.

Has anyone ever heard what happened to that tv fellow in Buffalo who decided to cut off his wife's head since she had the audacity to seek a divorce? Nice philosophy, eh, Ms. Kagan! Amazing how the LIBERAL MEDIA chooses to pick and choose the topics deserving airtime.

It is my opinion that the left wants someone to do their dirty work for them. Minorities to fight (re: kill) white republicans because of racism and Muslims to fight (re: kill) Christians. They probably haven't thought far enough to know what happens next if they achieve their goals.

It just seems very simple to me.
Sharia Law cannot coexist with the US Constitution and the Republic for which it stands. They are polar opposite concepts.

Anyone supporting any form of Sharia in this country should NOT be in a position of power, much less sit on the Supreme Court.

on one hand you are correct, but keep in mind: followers of most religions are open-minded and tolerant to other's beliefs, customs, etc. Muslims, however, are not. They are not tolerant of other religions or beliefs, and according to their koran, they must kill all those who don't believe as they do.
My opinion: there is no room here in the US, or other western civilizations; for islam, simply based on their volotile(sp) nature. If muslims want to live peacefuly amongst other muslims (they really can, can't they?), they must either stay in the mid-east, or relocate to the mid-east. That's where allah put them, that's where they should stay.
Problem solved.

What a coincidence–that's just what Michael Bloomberg wants to do with NY! Here's the 'response' his office sent out to those who voiced their opposition to the construction of the "Islamic cultural center" and mosque in Lower Manhattan.

"Dear Friend: Thank you for writing to share your thoughts and concerns about the proposed mosque and Islamic cultural center to be built at Park Place and Broadway in Lower Manhattan, several blocks north of the World Trade Center site.

Our Administration strongly supports the right of faith groups to open houses of worship, or community centers, in whatever location they choose, provided it complies with all applicable laws. New York has long been America's most tolerant and diverse City, welcoming the best, brightest, and hardest-working individuals from around the world – no matter their identity or beliefs. As a City, we win by choosing to uphold the principles of freedom and respect that lie at the foundation of this tradition – and that the terrorists attacked on September 11, 2001. Winning the war on terrorism requires us not only to defeat our enemies, at home and abroad, but also to continue upholding the values that make America great. (What???)

Last month, the local community board voted by an overwhelming margin (29-1) to endorse the project. Of course, the approval process has many steps yet before it is finalized, and many questions remain unanswered. I understand that this is a particularly sensitive issue, and I am hopeful that more dialogue about the center will increase the understanding and cooperation that is so integral to the vitality of New York City.
